Like I mentioned on the front page, I had very little experience with this stuff before college, but here are recommendations based on what my friends and I did in high school.
- Take the hardest math you can ( and pay attention )
- Take any programming classes you can
- Programming is only a tool to help you do the cool stuff, but you need it
- You can't do science without math, and you can't do CS without programming.
- Play around with individual projects on your own
- Create small programs for yourself
- Build computers or learn about circuitry
- Create a small internet company
- Read, read, read. The internet and libraries are full of information.
- Read fun stuff
P.S. Making good grades is also a good idea :-)
